YouTube officially announced that BTS’s “Butter” set a new 24-hour record, breaking the previous record held by their own “Dynamite” music video. BTS now occupies the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on YouTube’s All-Time Top 24 Hour Music Debuts.
BTS also took to the Billboard Music Awards stage on Sunday for the television debut of their second English-language single. This marks the fourth consecutive year in which BTS has performed at the Billboard Music Awards. The group made its BBMAs debut in 2018 with “Fake Love,” returning to perform “Boy With Luv” alongside Halsey in 2019 and “Dynamite” in 2020.
Since its release on May 21, the “Butter” music video was viewed 108.2 million times in the first 24 hours, and currently has over 200 million views. The 2020 hit “Dynamite” music video had 101.1 million views in the first 24 hours, and now has over a billion views.
