How to Watch All the Recent Winners of the Baeksang Awards, “The Oscars of Korea”

The annual Korean Baeksang Awards (also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards) are the most popular and prestigious awards for film and television in South Korea. Similar to the Academy Awards, the Baeksang Awards have categories to present the best films, directors, actors and actresses, screenplays, etc. In addition to awarding films, awards also go the best television dramas of the year.

There is also a Grand Prize in both the film and television category that is given as the most prestigious honor at the ceremony and is awarded to either an individual or a specific project.

Established originally in 1965, the Baeksang Awards’ purpose is to highlight and celebrate the ever-growing development of talent within the Korean entertainment industry. 2020 was a big year for Korean films as Parasite made history as the first Korean film to be honored with four Academy Awards including Best Picture, and it was no surprise that the Baeksang Awards also recognized both Bong Joon Ho and Parasite with their own awards.

Not all the best Korean films and dramas are available to watch outside of Korea but here is a list of the Baeksang winners of the past four years and links to how you can enjoy them from home:
