Gold House is holding its third annual gala to honor 100 of the most impactful Asians in 2024, about a fourth of whom are of Korean heritage. At the forefront of this year’s celebration is “Beef,” winner of the Gold Icon Honor.
The Gold House A100 list recognizes trailblazers across all industries who are at the forefront of what the organization calls the “new gold age.” Distinction is given to individuals who have had the most impact within their respective industries over the past year. The honorees will be celebrated at the Gold Gala on May 11 in downtown Los Angeles.
This year’s Gold Icon honor is being presented to the creator and cast of Netflix’s “Beef,” which include Korean Americans Lee Sung Jin, Steven Yeun, Joseph Lee and David Choe. Also honored after making a splash on the awards circuit is the creator and leads of “Past Lives,” Koreans: Celine Song, Greta Lee and Teo Yoo. (Last year the creators and cast of “Everything Everywhere All at Once” were similarly recognized.)
2024’s Gold Legend award will go to BTS founder and chairman of the HYBE Corporation, Bang Si-Hyuk.
Honorees from the business world include: Don H. Liu, Chief Legal Officer at Target Corporation, and Jason Kwon, Chief Strategy Officer at OpenAI.
Son Heung-min will be recognized for his powerhouse leadership in the world of sports. K-Pop group Ateez will be honored with the New Gold Award, which is handed to a rising leader who redefines canon for the Asian Pacific community.
In addition, seven individuals will join the Gold House Hall of Fame. They include: Jason Momoa (Actor,) Collin Morikawa (Pro Golfer,) Shohei Ohtani (LA Dodgers,) Olivia Rodrigo (Singer,) Dr. Lisa Su (CEO AMD,) Garry Tan (CEO Combinator,) and James Wan (Director, Producer and Writer.) They join past Hall of Fame inductees: BLACKPINK, BTS, Fareed Zakaria, Kamala Harris, Chloe Kim, Daniel Dae Kim, David Chang, Sandra Oh and Steven Yeun.
This year’s theme is A Gold New World which imagines a tomorrow for all, built by all. The gala will be followed by the inaugural Gold House x Billboard Founders Party, an event headlined by Steve Aoki.
