The Korean American Community Foundation Annual Gala is going virtual this year on September 23 at 7:30pm. The theme is Above and Beyond, and this year KACF is honoring their 21 indefatigable grantee partners, who went “above and beyond”–often at great personal risk–serving marginalized KoreanAmerican and AsianAmerican communities as COVID19 wreaked havoc this year.
KACF was founded in 2002 to empower the underserved and under-resourced among us, and the COVID-19 pandemic showed us why we need to continue to show up for our community, support and advocate for one another. The KACF community has gone above and beyond
to meet perhaps the greatest challenge of our lifetime.
KACF is also honoring John S. Hong, co-founder of KACF, with the Legacy Award, and Lenzo Yoon, Global CEO of Big Hit Entertainment, home to global superstars BTS, 방탄소년단, with the #TrailblazerAward for Big Hit’s groundbreaking achievements in music, and using their platform together with their artists to lift up the most vulnerable and underrepresented.

From KACF:
KACF’s Annual Gala celebrates individuals and organizations that are lifting up our community, and this year, it is going virtual in light of COVID-19. Since 2002, the Foundation has been helping to increase the economic security of low-income families and build healthy, thriving communities by providing grants and management support to nonprofit organizations in the NY/NJ area. This work is more important now than ever– thank you so much for your support!
